Hey,

I realize that we put an "About" link on the top of the main page, but we never really thought anybody would click it. So, thanks for cyber-stalking us! Here's some basic information to satisfy your endless curiosity:

We are based in Napa, CA (sad-but-true fact: while we love wine, in five years of living here, we have yet to go wine tasting!). We do spend a lot of time outdoors in the garden, landscaping our property, or watching birds. We also spend a lot of time in the kitchen; as you'll notice during the course of our discourse, food and drink are important parts of our life.

Our goal for 2015 is to have a "Big-ish" year birding. We're not trying to beat Neil's record year or compete with Noah, or anything crazy like that. Instead, our goal is to see more bird species than we ever have before, and ideally more than the 572 that Roger Tory Peterson saw in his tour of America. Yes, we're going to try to do better than a dead guy who didn't have the Internet, GPS, or smart phones, and who wasn't even trying to hit a number!

Along the way, we're going to see interesting places, eat some great food, and meet fascinating people. And, if you follow our blog, we'll tell you more than you probably wanted to know...
